Quick Update

Wow! It is truly amazing to watch God work on our family! When we started this journey we had planned on going the traditional route with a baby between 0 and 12 months. Little did we know that God already had our child here on earth. On Sept 30th I received the most recent child waiting email from America World. Typically I do not open since a majority of those children that Kenneth and I are not ready to take on. But for some reason I opened the link and there he was! He was not the baby we had envisioned but he was to be ours! So what does this mean you ask?? Time to hurry up the paperwork to Africa. We closed on our new house on Oct 9th and that is when we told my parents about Little Buddy! On Oct 12th our fabulous social worker came to the house to finish the home study and we hope that by the end of the week the referral will be in our hands!! Keep us in our prayers and we will let you know asap what we hear!

An Introduction

Greetings -
Kenneth and I are very excited! In just a few hours we are going to meet some other families that are also in the process of adopting from Ethiopia! It is one thing to sit up at night and read blogs of families on the process. It sure will be something different when you can put names, faces and families with the process.
We will be sure to let you know how it goes!

Acceptance Day

Greetings -
As I sit here tonight I have had the great pleasure of spending the last few hours reading a blog and following a familie's story about the same trip we are about to take! Today at 4:38pm we received the official acceptance into America World's Ethiopia adoption program!!! So now we let the paper pregancy begin. Along with the news of acceptance we were given the first of many pieces of paper that need to be signed and sent to the agency! And of course we signed immediately and it is ready to be mailed in the morning!

The Choice Has Been Made ~

So after much research and even more discussion Kenneth and I have chosen the country of Ethiopia to bring our new little one home from. The reasons are long and based on so many things but we both agree that our time at Disney (and opening Disney's Animal Kingdom) that Africa holds a special place in our heart. We hope to share more about the country in future posts so that you to may feel a bond to a country a world away!

Day One!

Well it is official as of today we have begun the adoption process! Our application and application fee have been secured by our agency and now we wait! It is an awesome thought that in as little as 9 months Kenneth and I could be parents! What an amazing journey God has started us on.
